Welcome to my C-section Photo Gallery
My son, Phelan was born by cesarean section after 36 hours of labor. He had his head in an odd position (called asynclitic), and we could not get him to turn so that he could be born the right way, so we had surgery. My husband took a roll of film in the operating room - it is not too graphic, and I hope that this gallery can help others who are interested in the procedure, or trying to heal from their own c-section birth.

The Vbac Companion : The Expectant Mother's Guide to Vaginal Birth After Cesarean

This book explains why a VBAC is better than a repeat c-section. It gives suggestions on how to prevent another emergency c/s. (Who wants to labor for half a day only to end up with major surgery again?) I am constantly using this book as reference material to assure moms that wanting a VBAC is not being selfish. It is usually the healthiest birth possible for both mom and baby. Even if you are destined for another c/s, this book gives ideas to make the event more of a birth and less of a surgical procedure.

Complications: What You Need to Know About Your Placenta

Placenta previa is the term for a “low-lying” placenta that covers all or part of the internal opening of the cervix. A cesarean delivery (c-section) is recommended for nearly all women with placenta previa because of the risk of severe bleeding.
