A Birth Story Birth Doula
My name is Maggie. I am a 34 year old mother of two children ages 10 and 12. I am a Certified Lactation Educator and trained Labor Assistant Birth Doula. I received my lactation certification from UCLA extension, and obtained my doula training through both DONA _Doulas of North America_ and ALACE _Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators_. I have a bachelors degree in Human Development obtained from California State University San Marcos, and worked for 5 years in the Women's Education Department at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women. I have been working both as a labor assistant and lactation specialist for 8 years. Currently, I am in the process of obtaining my certification as a child birth educator from ALACE.
Your birth is going to be a memory that lasts forever, and it will be a story you tell hundreds of times. A birth experience characterized by love and respect is worth remembering. It is my job to be a supporting character in your story, and to help you advocate for that kind of birth experience. It is my job to make sure your voice is heard and that your physical and emotional needs are met.
