Poems About Pregnancy

Previous Page

  • Tiny Pearlized Buttons
This poem was written in May, 2001, not long after the death of my beloved grandfather. In my grief, I was also deeply saddened by the knowledge that he would never know my own much anticipated child. A very thoughtful comment from another grieving relative brought me tremendous comfort. She said "Kathleen, Grandpa will see your baby before you do." The poem is borne of my belief that he watches over my entire extended family to this day, including all the children who have yet to be.

  • Child Of Mine
My poem is about my unborn child and how anxiously we await "it's" arrival.

  • Little Seth, Precious One
    The miracle of new life

  • My Cesarean Poem
My unwanted cesarean delivery. Hey, how about a poem category just about births?

  • Yes I am having a baby
This poem was written when I was in my third trimester and getting ready to have my first child at the age of 21
