Poems About Pregnancy

- Tiny Pearlized Buttons
This poem was written in May, 2001, not long after the death of my beloved grandfather. In my grief, I was also deeply saddened by the knowledge that he would never know my own much anticipated child. A very thoughtful comment from another grieving relative brought me tremendous comfort. She said "Kathleen, Grandpa will see your baby before you do." The poem is borne of my belief that he watches over my entire extended family to this day, including all the children who have yet to be.
