My 3 Sons
First there is Khayman,
Named for an old soul.
He was the experiment, to see if my body
Would hold, as it should,
That little spark of life
As any other woman would.
He is my first love, my sensitive man
He taught me patience I never thought I had
He gives me new ways to see the world
He is strong and fine, and always bold.
Then there is Ki-pat,
Named for a hero,
He was a surprise, but welcomed as well,
Into our lives, so we could,
Be more than just beginners,
As we knew that we should.
He is my "special" one, my queer little me
He taught me awareness, I never thought I'd be
He gives me new ways to see myself
He is tough and sweet, and always an elf.
The last one is Kell,
Named for a song,
He was a struggle, we all held our breath,
To wait for his time, when we knew that he would,
Emerge from his tent all ready,
As we knew that he could.
He is my cypher, my power-hungry kid,
He taught me gratitude, I never thought I'd get
He gives me new ways to see the family
He is smart and fierce, and always a beauty.
These are my boys,
This is their beginning,
At this moment; 7-4-1, this is all I can see.
I look at them more,
Than I can ever be happy with,
And all that I see
Is the road ahead.
