Jen,
As I held you in my arms,
I was instantly beguiled by your charms.
Never ever having held a babe before,
I really couldn't imagine what it held in store,
As your eyes, barely focused, gazed up at me,
I thought this is what contentment must be.
When your little voice made gurgles and coos,
I wondered how I had the right to choose.
Mostly playful,yet othertimes crying,
I never despaired, I kept on trying.
Being a teenage mother was tough to start,
but once it began, a glow suffused my heart.
As my feelings for my newborn babe grew,
I knew you would be mine my whole life through.
