Prayer For My Daughter
Lord, I will love this baby no matter what it is.
But, it would really help me out if You gave me a girl this time.
I have two sons and I would a daughter.
Would You make sure she gets her father's green eyes?
And, please give her his nose
and olive skin.
Oh, yes, give her his long legs.
Let her be beautiful.
But, Lord, give her my heart.
Let people be drawn to her because of her beautiful heart.
Lord, one more thing,
give her the gift of being able to express herself.
Sixteen years have passed and it is obvious
God has answered every prayer.
Do you think my daughter gives a care?
Indignant, she asks,
"Mom, why didn't you pray about my hair?"
