What I Want My Kids To Know About Me
- I want my kids to know that they enchant me, amuse me,
frustrate me and define who I am.
- I want my kids to know that even though I also work outside the
home they will never want for my attention.
- I want them to know that it is no accident that my purse has
surprises in it at all times.
- I want them to know that I do not have boundless energy- I just
pretend very well!
- I want them to know that I do not particularly like the Power
Rangers and Beetleborgs, but I know their names, colors and
weapons of choice and I will watch them willingly any time.
- I want them to know that the look on their faces at Christmas
and their birthdays makes my heart sing.
- I want them to know that the laundry, cooking, cleaning, bill
paying and grocery shopping is not done at night by elves.
- I want them to know that no matter who or what they become as
young men, I will always be proud of them if they are happy and
have tried their best.
- I want them to know that I occasionally let them pull the wool
over my eyes on purpose.
- I want them to know that although it may be easier and less
messy to make holiday cookies by myself, it is infinately more
fun when they participate.
- I want them to know that when I say "NO" it is for a reason.
- I wnat them to know that life is not always easy, but I will be
here to ease their path when they need me.
- I want them to know that I have learned every word to every
Disney song by heart just for them.
- I want them to know that I feel their attempts at artwork rival
that of any museum masterpiece.
- I want them to know (but not until they are adults) that I am
not really the boss- they are.
- I want them to know that I did not possess one ounce of
creativity until they were born.
- I want them to know that they are my pot of gold at the end of
the rainbow.
- I want them to know that I am only human and may sometimes
deserve the title "mean mommy".
- I want them to know that I do sometimes prefer to run errands
by myself.
- I want them to know that I thank God for them every day.
- I want them to know that they are truly miracles.
- I want them to know that I am BLESSED
