"The Other Mother"
"I could never be his mother,"
I could never give him care
" I could never be his mother,"
as I brushed his auburn hair
" I could never be hs mother,"
as I looked into his face
So I sought to find another
Who could better take my place
I would search to find this other
I would pray to God above
That one day I'd find another
Who could gladly show him love
Then one day she came to us
In a letter through the mail
And after reading it,
And feeling it
I knew that she would love him
I knew She wouldn't fail........
Now she's the One who'll care for you
And bed you down for night
And some how when she's around
Everything seems alright
She'll hold you when you're scared
And chase monsters away
She'll take away the bad thoughts
and make the good ones stay
She'll watch you take your 1st steps
Be a part of all the memories
you'll love her so much
and you won't remember me
But I'll remeber you always. And for the rest of my life I'll
have to live my life with this void......
this empty space......
Because I could never be your mother
Because now She takes my place
