How I remember you, forever smiles
That sweet scent of new life and dependence
A moment in time between mother and child
A day I hold, locked away in silence
God's grace fell upon me however brief
And into my life, with His light, you came
A light that still today eases my grief
And makes my love, my loss, my gift the same
Now you are gone, with me you could not stay
At that moment, a truth I had to face
My greatest joy, you were born on that day
A child, my first, I can not replace
Now today, as you continue to grow
I remember a love only I will know.
