My First Year
I entered the world on the 21st of May
Three weeks early, nearly 9lbs but Oh what a happy day!
Those first few months I didn't do much at all
My parents were told "Enjoy this time while he is small".
Once I discovered I could scoot around by my own might,
It's been non-stop action morning till night.
When I dressed up like a skunk, everyone had to take a look,
I even won first prize at the Halloween Party- A baby book.
I became a a "big" cousin at the end of the year,
when little red headed Garrison finally got here.
On January 7th, I took off crawling across the floor,
with in the next week I was pulling up and finally off all fours.
At 9 months old, my teeth broke through at last,
But if you wanted to see them you would have to be fast.
The first time I tried putting one foot in front of the other,
was on Easter Sunday-I walked from my daddy to my mother.
I practiced walking all day and into the night,
and by the first of May I had at last got it right!
"Bye-bye" and "Ma-Ma" I can now say,
But "da-da" is what you will hear most of the day.
As you can see I have had a busy year,
Hard to believe my First Birthday is so near.
My Mommy and Daddy are throwing me a party with Sesame Street,
I hope you will come-It would be so neat!
