I call your name.
You quickly cast
your eyes over
your shoulder and smile.
Lit up; brilliant, radiant
curly locks
of hair reveal
a shimmering halo
in the sunlight.
So young.
I feel wrong
to think so,
now, as your eyes pierce
mine with crisp
and wisdom.
You teach
me, you,
so soon from God – so close
to all that reigns
and holy.
And precious
in my arms.
