A lot has happened with our baby preparations since last I wrote. I have been busy, that's for sure. So to catch up, I did not make it to the USA baby store on Tuesday as they were closed by the time I got there after having done loads of errands. The good news though is that I went there today and boy do they have a lot of stuff. They carry as much stuff as the Burlington store in Syracuse and the prices are pretty similar. The saleslady was really nice and she showed me all sorts of neat stuff. They carry the crib tents but they were $89.00 so we'll probably order from that site on the internet where it was $65.00. They carried the Noah's Ark bedding that we had liked and had lots more of the accessories to go with it. There were oodles of cribs to choose from and the prices weren't bad. They also have a six month, no-cost, layaway program and a baby registry. I signed up for their mailing list so I'll get to hear about all the sales. I can't wait for Larry to go with me and for us to be ready to buy stuff.

This afternoon I had my first OB appointment. There is good news and there is bad news. The good news was that I really liked the OB and the staff was very pleasant as well. The bad news is that this OB is not returning to the practice once she has her baby in a few weeks :( So, this means that I can see someone else within the practice. I really had my heart set on having a woman but this practice has 2 men and 1 woman OB, and a female nurse practitioner. If it weren't so hard to get an appointment with someone I might go back to the drawing board but since it took me six months to get an appointment with that practice I think I should probably stay put.

During the visit I asked her about the blood test for rubella and for toxoplasmosis (the disease you can get from raw meat or cat feces) and she said that they usually test for those things during the first OB visit so I agreed to wait. We discussed my cycles and my charting, my weight (not something I'm happy with but not something she's concerned about), prenatal vitamins (which I've been taking since July), and all the other routine gynecological discussions. She said to call as soon as I get a positive pregnancy test and they will get me in. In this practice you see all of the doctors at some point so even if one takes the lead with you, you still see them all for visits and whoever is on call when you deliver is the one who delivers your baby. I'm not sure that I'm thrilled about this but I don't think it's too uncommon. So now I just have to get pregnant.

My Mother-in-Law and her fiance are coming for the weekend and they don't know that there is a baby in the works. I'm sure they will figure it out, however, once they see all the pregnancy books and magazines. I'm sure they'll be happy for us.

So as of today I am on cycle day 17, my cycle should run between 24-26 days and then I'll be onto the cycle that "counts". We have thrown out the condoms and it's all systems go. Larry is getting more and more into this and today he was at a training session with the guy that we are hoping will be our pediatrician. He said that he told him that we were probably going to be having a baby soon and asked about his services. I think it is great that he's thinking ahead and talking about it to people, now if he'd just get as obsessed as me, hee hee. No actually we probably still need a stable person in this house so I hope he doesn't cross that line to join me in obsession. Well, I'm off to bed. I have my internship tomorrow and have no clue what I'm wearing.
