Well, I had no sooner sent off my journal entry about my worries
about not ovulating on time when I got "the pain". My mittelschmerz (boy
did I spell it wrong in the last entry, oops) or ovulatory pain arrived with
a vengeance in my right side as I was doing the dishes. I had been
complaining to Larry that I wasn't getting the pain and I was worried about
ovulation, yadda, yadda, yadda, and boom! So I said, "I think I've got the
pain!" and he said, "You're happy to be in pain?" and I said "Yes, because
now I know that I'm right on track." So I am feeling relieved that the big
O arrived right on schedule, day 13 just like clockwork. The pain tends to
be really intense and painful (duh) for about 6 hours or so and then is a
dull ache for a couple of days. Since I went off the pill in June and began
charting I have been having mittelschmerz only on my right side. I don't
know what that means, I guess as long as at least one side appears to be
working I won't worry about it. God knows I've got plenty of things that I
think I need to worry about.
Went to Albany today, both classes were pretty good but it's oh so hard to
get up at 5 a.m. I am NOT a morning person (another thing that I know will
have to change when a baby enters the picture), I am a night owl. In one of
my classes we did the Keirsey Character Sorter Test which is a version of
the Myers-Briggs Personality test and I came out to be an ISFJ
(Introverted/Sensing/Feeling/Judging). This type is so completely me, I
have taken this same type of test at least 4 times and each time I come out
to be the same thing so I guess it's pretty valid. The website to take the
online version of the test is: http://keirsey.com/cgi-bin/keirsey/kcs.cgi. It tells about the test and the different personality types. Pretty cool.
So that was my excitement for the day. Well, that and we had Boston Market
for lunch which was tasty as usual. My big plans for tomorrow include
tracking down that USA Baby store and doing a little shopping (something
that I am very good at, much to Larry's dismay). I'll post tomorrow about
my finds and also my questions for my first OB appointment which is coming
up on Thursday.
