Monday, September 7, 1998 - Labor Day

Well, we did go to the zoo yesterday and to Burlington Coat Factory in Syracuse. We had a good day except for getting a bit lost while we looked for the zoo, we were beginning to think that they didn't really want people to visit, it was that hard to find. By the time we got there I had a splitting headache and was STARVING! I am one of those people that when I have to eat I have to eat NOW! So we had yucky Burger King at the zoo and there were tired, screaming kids all around me. I must admit my baby urges waned a bit for about 15 minutes but by the time I ate my food, took some tylenol, and moved away from the unhappy babies I felt better and once again was very eager for October to arrive. It was nice to see all the kids and families at the zoo together, I can't wait till we have a child to take there, it is not quite as exciting when it's just two adults.

When we went to Burlington Coat Factory I was thrilled to see that they had a huge baby section, I mean huge! Most stores have like 2-3 cribs to choose from and 2-3 types of bedding etc but this place had like 20+ crib choices and even more bedding choices, it was so cool. The stuff wasn't that expensive either so that is definitely where we will go to get our nursery furniture. They had this really cute Noah's Ark bedding that I think we are going to go with, it would work for either sex and has moons and stars in the background. Larry about had a heart attack when he saw how expensive everything is. He couldn't believe some of the prices and was amazed when I told him that they were actually pretty low. Larry was very patient with me while I looked at and touched everything in the department. He's really starting to get into the whole baby thing. We won't need to buy bureaus because we bought two when we were in Maine in August visiting family. One we will use as a changing table/dresser and the other as a regular dresser. I refinished one already and it looks so good. They both wouldn't fit in the car so one is still in Maine and will get brought back and refinished after Thanksgiving, unless my mom comes to visit sooner and brings it with her (I hope). They look so much nicer than the bureaus that the store was selling to match the cribs, Larry was pretty pleased that our dresser purchase had been a bargain and looked nicer too.

So that's the story of our weekend, today I have lots of laundry and reading for class ahead of me, not much fun but those necessary evils. My first OB appointment is a week from Thursday so I'll be starting to think of the questions I'll want to ask her. Uh oh, housework and schoolwork are calling my name. Till next time...
