Waiting, waiting, waiting. So far no AF which is good because that
means I'm having a nice long luteal phase (the amount of time between
ovulation and your period). I was worried that my cycles were getting
shorter each month since I've been off the pill. The "book" (Taking Charge
of Your Fertility) says that a luteal phase of less than 10 days can be
problematic when trying to conceive (ttc) because there needs to be at least
ten days to allow for implantation if the egg does get fertilized. So I
guess I have one less thing to worry about.
Not a lot going on other than that. Larry is working this month
with a gastroenterologist (stomach doctor) who happens to be married to the
female OB at the practice that I'm going to (she is the OB that I really
want since I can't have the other one who's leaving the practice). Larry
asked about my being able to get in with her as my primary OB and he (the
gastro guy) gave Larry his wife's nurse's name and number so if the
receptionists give me a hard time I can go right to the nurse and explain
how my dh is a doctor too and knows Dr. Shuymeyko's husband and she can
hopefully pull a few strings to get me on her caseload. Her hubby didn't
think it would be a problem but I'm happy to have an extra in. Sometimes it
pays to be a doctor's wife.
Next month is going to be really busy one for my poor honey. He'll
be working on the internal medicine floor at the smaller of the two
hospitals that he works at and it is a really busy rotation. He has a LOT
of call and is on many nights and weekends. :-( He also is obsessed with
moonlighting (ok, so that's a good thing so far) which means that he's taken
on several shifts in addition to his required call to make money. So, it
looks like we won't be seeing too much of each other next month. He has
assured me that he will show up at the requested times (days 9-14 of my
cycle) to perform his husbandly duties (hee hee) so I am not worried that we
won't have opportunity to bd, I just feel bad that he's working so much.
Well, I have to go to class and do some other errands so I'm off....till
next time.
