I was 16 weeks on Monday and today I went to the doctor's office. We had our
first real ultrasound! This tech was also a nurse and was very good. We saw
so much of the baby and were able to see some very detailed face shots.
Everything seems to be OK as far as development goes and they said that the
measurements were consistent with my new due date. So, March 14 it is then!
"Ollie" was very, very active! There was also alot of sucking of the thumb
going on. It was wonderful! George and I debated the whole time if we wanted
to know the sex or not. We were both divided 50/50 so we opted not to. We
have another one in four weeks so maybe we will change our minds.
I have been given orders to not stay on my feet for more than a half of an
hour at a time. I have been having some contractions and they are concerned
given my history of pre-term labor. This is better than bed rest so I will
take what I can get. They did an ultrasound to check my cervix and that was
fine. They just want it to remain that way.
I am so very tired. Olivia seems to have given up her naps for the time
being. At one point she was getting up at 4:30 am also. George is doing some
extra consulting work for his old boss and still works many shifts as a
paramedic each week as well as his normal 9-5 job every day. We don't see
much of him but when he is home Olivia wants no one but him. I really love
seeing them together! He is such a wonderful daddy. Olivia is well on her
way to walking and had decided to feed herself. She will only eat table food,
not that I can blame her! She is such a joy in our lives. Her smile is
contagious and lights up the room.
