As I write this I am waiting for my doctor's exchange to pick up…there. I
feel so uncomfortable…OK. We are off to the hospital…ouch!
I had great ideas about writing in my journal to pass the time during
contractions-I couldn't concentrate…big surprise, huh? Well, we were sent to
the hospital for contractions and sent home four or five hours later-at 3 in
the morning. I was having regular contractions but they weren't huge and my
cervix wasn't changing at all-good thing. This doctor didn't do anything were
as my last doctor gave me the full court press. I prefer this approach. So
here I am contracting along and am to call if they get stronger, my water
breaks, have a bloody show yada, yada, yada…
When the contractions hit and became stronger that night I lost it. I
couldn't think. Nothing was like my last labor-the contractions weren't the
same; the symptoms weren't the same. The baby is so low that when these
contractions start I am in the bathroom peeing every 10 minutes. It's lots
of fun.
So, I am back home with orders to rest a bit. I became tired of resting and
am only resting now a little. The doctors aren't worried so neither am I.
We had a refresher course for labor two days later. It was OK…I think we
will get more out of the VBAC class we will attend in two weeks. I am most
interested in finding positions to facilitate labor and the dropping of the
baby in station. I have so many questions and concerns now as labor
approaches…
