This week has been better than the last one. I have a personal theory that we
all get another pregnancy hormone rush around the fifth month. If this theory
is wrong than I have absolutely no excuse for being as nuts as I feel I am. I
remember being this way when I first became pregnant with both pregnancies and
then it evened out for a while. Well folks, I am knee deep in a fresh batch
of pregnancy psychosis!!! I either yell or cry. It's quite a lot to handle
for my husband. I can't stand to be around myself sometimes. It's like I am
possessed! I am thinking "Honey, I love you so much! I am so glad we are
married!" and "Why do you have to act like this? What is with the attitude?
You have absolutely no ground to stand on and tell me to calm down, you're not
even home enough to know what normal is!" comes out of my mouth and I am
helpless to stop it. My poor husband. I've recommended that he hug me and
tell me to get some sleep and we will talk about it in the morning. We'll see
how that works. I also think that depending on what the sex of the baby is,
the mother acts accordingly to the extra hormones in her system. Olivia I
cried quite a bit. With this baby, whom I think is a boy, I still cry but I
yell a lot more. It's all of that testosterone. It's only a theory.
We went apple picking today and had a very nice time. We took some great
pictures of Olivia picking apples and crawling around and in between the
pumpkins. The apples are huge!!! She loves them and as long as she has one
to sink all five of her teeth into she is one happy ten-month-old.
I still haven't gained any weight as I approach my fifth month. I haven't
begun to be yelled at yet but I have another OB appointment in two weeks. We
will see what they have to say. I had about twenty extra pounds left from the
last pregnancy. With that one I had gained 75 pounds all together. By this
time in my first pregnancy I had gained 15 or so pounds. Between weeks 31 and
41 I gained 30 pounds. It was not what I was eating either because I was
being very careful already. A few months before I had had a "talking to"
about gaining 14 pounds in one month. Boy did I feel lousy! I eat regular
meals and I have added a few snacks. I just want to put on "good weight" not
the kind one puts on from ice cream and potato chips. All will be as it will
I suppose.
I am feeling the baby move quite a bit now. It is always a very comforting
feeling. My husband and I looked at a Chinese lunar calendar that claims to
predict your baby's sex to a 90% accuracy. We checked it against 15 or so
births and it was only wrong twice. According to this our newest addition is
a boy! We will see. I wonder if George will make a bet with the nurse
again.
