27 weeks pregnant

Well, another week has passed. Not much has happened. I have been concerned that the baby is not moving as much as I'd like. There seems to be a change in the kind of kicks I get. So, I drank a glass of Orange juice and sat as still as I could. She seems to kick about 30 times an hour. But, I think perhaps she has changed positions and that is why the kicking is different. This morning she has been a great deal more active, maybe she just needed a vacation from kicking. Also, she kicks a great deal more when I study or am in class. This weekend I kind of took time off because of 2 migranes, so perhaps she wasn't as stimulated as usual. I have a friend that is 30 weeks pregnant, who is high risk. She has noticed her daughter is fighting for space, so perhaps that is what it is.

At any rate, I realize that this is the time one becomes concerned about how the child is doing. So, I am trying not to worry. Outside of that, everything is quite normal. I find it difficult to stand for long periods, not to mention sit for long periods. The bedroom has become the most comfortable place in the house.

We still have not started Lamaze classes, and will not until late March. It feels as if we are starting just in the nick of time. I am anxious to learn as much as I can in hopes that this birth will go well. My mother had 28 hours of labor with me and 24 with my sister. I hope it isn't genetic. My mother has always been in better shape than me, so let us hope my labor is not as long.

I am getting to a point of excitement. I really would like to get to the end of this process. I find it difficult to concentrate on my studies. I find all I want to do is focus on the pregnancy. It is all I can do to concentrate 3 hours a day on my classes.

Lets hope this week is as uneventful as last.

Melissa
