Kiley's Pregnancy Journal
- Pregnancy Week Twenty Three

24 Weeks Pregnant

I had my doctor's appointment today. I had to take the one hour glucose tolerance test, which was oh so much fun! Actually, it wasn't that bad. I just had to drink this stuff that tasted like really thick, syrupy sprite. I got the shakes pretty bad from it and actually felt a little nauseous too. The doctor told me this was normal because your body is experiencing a sugar rush. Then I had my monthly appointment while I was waiting for the sugar to get through my system so they could draw blood.

The doctor told me that my uterus is measuring small and that I should schedule an ultrasound. This kind of surprised me because before they told me that I probably wouldn't get an ultrasound during my entire pregnancy unless something was wrong. So, I'm a bit worried. He said that they would check all the measurements of the baby to make sure that it's growing properly. I really hope that everything is OK. That appointment is Wednesday, so I'll let you know what happens!

I will get my glucose test results later this week. If everything is OK, they actually won't even call me. They'll only call with bad news. I just realized that I'm starving, so I'm going to grab a bite to eat! I'll write more later this week after the ultrasound!
