We were about to receive the greatest and most awesome gift we could ever get. We had been eagerly waiting for two whole weeks for the next day.      We were scheduled for an induction on December 26th at 8am. I woke up early that morning and it was as if my baby new she was supposed to arrive that day because as soon as I sat up in bed my water broke.      Shortly after getting settled in at the hospital our plans for a natural childbirth were changed. I was screaming for an epidural. Luckily, I got one fast. I was feeling good and was also pretty out of it. When a man, someone other than the original anesthesiologist, came in and gave me another shot into the IV I could hardly object. Unfortunately, it was a dose that made the labor worse instead of better. The side effects were almost unbearable.      I had the shakes and was too numb to push. My doctor found out and ordered that the drip be turned down. Only the drip didn't get turned down, it got turned off! The side effects went away rather quickly. I was able to push now, but the overdose had left me weak and tired. I was so upset. I was crying, screaming, and in a lot of pain. I felt like I couldn't go on. I yelled at the nurse that I wanted this baby out NOW!       My doctor came in and discovered that the drip was off. When he demanded in a loud voice for it to be turned back on, I felt much better. He gave me a short pep talk and we were on our way. The rest of the labor was hard. I pushed and pushed. This kid was just not moving! So, the doctor got the forceps. Ouch!      A few more pushes and my husband said he could see her. Then the doctor told me to stop pushing. The baby was stuck because the umbilical cord was wrapped around her body. By the time they got her out, my daughter was not breathing. I heard the call for neonatal and my heart sank. Josh was crying. And then a little miracle let out the most beautiful cry I have ever heard. There was a cheer from the nurses as they began to clean up my 9lbs. 6oz. of baby girl. They brought her to me and I held her for the first time after loving her for all those months. It was the greatest moment of my life.
