I was concieved in March of 1998, and my mommy and daddy found out about me when I was 7 weeks old. They were very surprised and did not know what to think or do. My mommy at the time was only 18 and a senior in high school and my daddy was 20, and worked full time. They were scared, confused, and happy, but knew that they needed to do something soon. They decided that they were going to go through with my birth. It was a very hard decision because my mommy was planning on going to college, but mommy and daddy did a lot of talking and decided that everything was going to be okay. They promised me that no matter what happens that they will love me and give me the best life they possibly can.

When my parents went to their first doctor appointment to hear my heartbeat they were anxious. They could not wait to hear my heartbeat. My mommy started to cry, because it was not until that moment that she realized that she loved me and wanted the best for me. Daddy too! During the nine months that my mommy carried me, she graduated from high school in June, started college early and moved into an apartment with my my daddy. She also excersized and ate healthy. She wanted the best for me, like any parent does for their child.

At 34 weeks, my mommy had a surprise baby shower for me. Actually my mommom had it for my mommy. My mommy was so surprised. I got a lot of clothes and toys. I also got a crib, swing, stroller, high chair, stationary walker and a big Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal. My mommy was happy that her friends and family a lot of things for her. At this time, no one knew my sex. They were hoping to find out but for medical reasons they were not allowed to have another ultrasound. My mommy was hoping for a girl and so was my Oma, Mommom, and my Aunt. Daddy did not care and neither did my Popop or my Papa. If I was a boy my name would be Tyler Jay or TJ.

Now my mommy is 38 weeks along and has dropped, meaning that I was getting into position, and getting ready to be born, but I still had 2 weeks to go. My mommy started to feel a lot of pain and was having trouble sleeping. She was dialated to 1 cm and by the end of the week she was 2 cm. She was happy to hear that, thinking I would come early. Wrong! When 40 weeks came she was still 2 cm and effaced 90% and VERY uncomfortable. Now my mommy was getting worried because I was late by 3 days. I was supposed to be born on Nov. 3, 1998. She justed wanted me to be born.

On the night of November 5, 1998 my mommy was determined to deliver me, so she decided to take some nasty Castor Oil. She did and was uncomfortable all night long. She was going to the bathroom a lot, which Castor Oil makes you do. At 3:30 a.m. the contractions started. I was letting her know that I would be coming in the next few hours, and I was getting cramped I had to do something. My mommy woke daddy up and he called the doctor at 5 a.m. and he told them to go to the hospital. Mommy and daddy got their at 6:30 a.m.. My mommy was crying because she was in so much pain and wanted to be comfortable. I did not blame her.

At 7:30 a.m. My Oma came to see my mommy at the hospital because she works there. My mommy needed her mommy. Mommy was scared. At 8:45 a.m my mommy had her epidural and was dialated to 6 cm. She was happy to hear that. Now that mommy was comfortable, she was able to talk to her mommy and my daddy. At 10 a.m. the doctors told my mommy to start pushing because I was ready to make my entrance into the world. My mommy was pushing for two hours and fourteen minutes. I came into the world at 12:14 p.m. on November 6, 1998. My mommy was very happy that I was a girl. She knew right away my name was going to be Sierra Ashley. After the nurses cleaned me, and weighed me, my mommy was able to hold me. She was very tired herself but happy to hold me. I weighed 7 lbs and 14 oz. I was 21 inches long. Two days later I was able to go home and have enjoyed life every since.
