It was Tuesday February 22 2000. Me and my dh had gone to pick up the crib from the store. I had woken up okay with no pain what so ever. That night I started getting braxton hicks really bad that my mother in law thought I was really going into labor. The next day I awoke fine as well just washing the baby's clothes and blankets. Then at night the hicks started up again I wasn't worried I felt fine. On Wednesday I put the crib up and made it look all nice and pretty. Thursday I took it slow and didn't have trouble going to sleep. It was friday the 25th and my mother in law invited to go to the mall with her so I got ready and we left. I walked around and since I was carrying low I started hurting. So, we decided to go home but on the way home she stopped with one of her cousins to drop somethings off. I felt alright but I felt the urge to go pee every 5 minutes. While I was washing my hands I notices my face was swollen. I looked at my hands and arms they were also swollen. I finally looked at my feet and they looked so bad that I called my doc up quick. The nurse on call said for me to check my blood pressure at a pharmacy and if it was higher than 90 to go straight to the hospital. We stopped at a pharmacy and sure enough it was 167/146. I told my mother in law and we were on our way when I remembered that I had to pick up some paper work to take with me. I called my dh which was working late that night and he said he'd try and leave asap. He works 30 minutes away and made it in 10. we arrived at the hospital at the same time. They told me to go to the emergency room and of course they were wrong! The nurse at the er told me to go to the maternity ward so we drove around the hospital and we went in. I had to put on a gown and then they connected all kinds of things on me. Since I had to go pee every 5 minutes I got up 3 times and the nurse never left my side. As I was walking back from the bathroom the last time I heard them talking about letting me go home and that everything was alright now. But guess what they were wrong again! As I was sitting back down on the bed I started to have a seizure. The last thing I remember is seeing my hand start to shake. As the nurses and my dh were trying to hold me down they were calling the doc, which said that I should be taken and preped for an emergency c-section. We were having a really bad hail storm that night and the lights kept going out while they were trying to do the epi. Finally I was ready and they cut me open and at 12:25 a.m. out came my little girl. She was 4 lbs. 12 ozs. 17 3/4 in.long. We named her Febe Michelle. Ofcourse while all this was going on I had no idea. I found out my baby had been born at 11:00 am that morning when the doc woke me up. She was the most beautiful baby girl I had ever seen! She's 14 months now and still growing.
