I was only 33 weeks when I went into premature labor. I had went to sleep at 10 pm. For some reason I woke up an hour later (probabaly due to a contraction). I felt like I had to pee, so I got up and headed to the bathroom. As Im relieving myself, I felt a big gush of water. My water had broke. I called my Doctor and he told me to come to the hospital.

At the hospital, I was put on Terbutaline to stop my labor. After the third round of shots, my labor stopped. I was given betamethasone to mature my baby's lungs. After three days of waiting, and dialated to 2 cm, my Doctor did an amnio. The baby's lungs were mature enough, so when I went back into labor they would not stop it. I was taken off the baby monitor and was taken to another room to "wait it out".

At 3 am the next morning I woke with intense contractions. My doctor checked me and I was at 10 cm. I had only been in labor for 20 minutes. Since I was off the baby monitor, I had barely enough time to tell the nurses that I was in labor. The contractions went from 1 minute apart, to constant PAIN. They hit so fast I could barely talk. I also did not get my epidural that I had planned on.

I only had to push about 6 times total. Corey was 3 lbs 15 ozs, 18 inches long. After 20 days in the NICU, he came home. My little blondie Corey is now 5 months old and weighs 13 lbs. He has no problems from him being born early.
