I have fraternal girls who will be 3 in July. I read everything I could get my hands on. I never imagined that I would lose my eye sight after I gave birth. (The books I read never said anything about that!)

The girls were born at 5:20 A.M. and 6:06 A.M. I also heard they come between 1 minute to 15 minutes apart! Through out the day my vision was getting blurry I didn't think much about it, this was my first time. I figured it was the medication they had given me, due to high blood pressure I had during delivery. The next day when I woke up I knew something was wrong when I could only see the figure of my hands.

I told the nurse and off I went to ICU. They tried several different medications nothing worked. I'm not even sure how many Specialists I saw or didn't see. They were checking my blood pressure every hour on the hour because it was still high. They even ran a CAT scan.

At this point, I have now been through 16 hours of labor, given birth to 2 girls, still not being able to enjoy them 2 days later, and wasn't able to take a shower! They were afraid that if I got out of bed I would have a stroke. This was not in the books I read!

By the fourth day, an Opthomologist came in to see me he gave me some eye drops and in a few hours I could finally see my 2 beautiful little baby girls that I only saw in the delivery room, briefly. It was on the 5th day that I got my shower. It was the longest one I have ever had.

Looking back at it all, I can say I would do it over again in a heart beat. I'm not sure that any book or research can ever explain giving birth.
