I found out I was pregnant with twins and I was totally astonished! I thought I was the last person to become pregnant with multiples but it was real! At that time I had 4 other children so it was going to be hard taking care of all of them! My children were: Danielle (12), Jordan (8), Megan (5) and Taylor (2). My husband and children were very supportive of me especially Danielle through the whole pregnancy. The pregnancy itself was fairly good with only a bit of morning sickness and light-heading. We chose not to find out the sex of the babies as we enjoy finding out right then and there. Anyway, let's get to the point:

I woke up one morning around 8:22 with mild contractions. My husband helped me through and timed them as they got a bit worse. This was a Sunday morning so the kids weren't at school. Danielle wants to become an obstetrician so she was helpful as well. We weren't planning a home birth (most definatly not with twins!) so we got everything packed up incase things started moving quickly! Well, that's exactly what happened. I felt the urge to pee so I went to the bathroom and discovered a "show". I told my husband this news and he said that the contractions would probably start to pick up shortly.

In the next ten minutes, I was on the kitchen floor moaning and groaning in pain!!! The contractions seemed to be on top of each other and it was insane! My husband said it was time to go to the hospital. We woke up the other kids and took off! We don't live too far away from the nearest hospital which is a plus! When we arrived I was immediatly admitted as I was already 6 cms! I waited and things didn't seem to be happening anymore, so they started me on the "p" drip as I call it!

Things started moving faster and they gave me an epidural at one point before I reached 8 cms. When I reached 10 I was a mess! My hair was all wacko, I felt like I was going to explode and that's about it! I wasn't in too much pain so that was good. When I started to push, my husband supported me and rubbed my back. As I pushed, what came out first was this huge bag of waters! It was bulging at really gross!

The doctor popped that and almost immediatly after, baby a's head came shooting out! It was full of blonde hair! After more pushes and forceps because the head was a little too big, baby a was out! It was screaming it's head off and bright pink! We heard 9:32 a.m. called out and I started to cry! I had my first baby out!

I didn't even know the sex still, but that was ok with me for now! It was whisked off to be checked and they checked how baby b was doing. It was in proper position so I pushed again. In like 10 pushes, the head was out and in a few more, the whole body was out!!!! I caught a glimpse of inbetween the legs and I yelled "This one's a girl!"

About 10 minutes later, the first placenta came out with no problem! As they brought the first baby back like 20 minutes later, it was wrapped up in a pink blanket!! It was another girl! We decided to name this one Lauren Anne. She weighed 5 pounds and 11 ounces.

As I was handing her to my husband, I had another incredible urge to push and the other placenta came out into my own hands because the doc had taken off his gloves!!!

Twin B (we named her Sarah Marie), had to stay overnight for oxygen reasons. She weighed 4 pounds and 9 ounces. They are totally healthy and hyper 3 year olds and I just recently had a boy named Austin Michael.
