Due to being totemic, my Obgyn decided to induce me at 37 weeks...
I went in Wed. January 5th, 2000 at 7am, but I was induced by 11am. After 27 hours of Inducement, only 15 hours were actual labor, My husband and I had a beautiful baby GIRL, January 6th at 2:35PM. She weighs 6lbs 1 oz.-20 inches long, and her name is Karissa Marie.
My labor was really hard. From 11am-12am nothing seamed to happen at all. Then all hell broke loose as I became severely ill. I started throwing up like every 5 min, and the cramping began. I was only 1cm dialated from 12am on, and, at 6am, my obgyn decided to show up and break my water, all awhile I'm still at 1cm. Breaking of the Water nearly drove me insane with pain, I ended up kicking my OB. He attached a moniter internally to measure my contractions and ordered my luvely Epidural immediately. However, Hospital staff do not seam to come when called because my Epidural was not given to me till 9:30am, btw I was still at 1cm. I slept pretty much from 10am-12noon (thank god!!!), and at 12 noon I went from 1cm-4cm. By 12:55pm I was at 8cm., and by 1:10pm I felt I could push. I was checked, and I was right; I was fully efaced and ready to push. My daughter was born at 2:35pm.
All I can say is the Epidural is the best thing ever created!!!!!!!!!
