My fiance and I had been engaged for a year and decided to buy a house before we did anything. I didn't want to raise a baby in the trailer we were living in. So we closed on the house and 3 weeks later I took a test because I was late and wasn't feeling like myself. When it came back positive I was shocked. I was only 22 and we hadn't even paid our first mortgage yet!!! My biggest concern was the money but it all seems to fall into place once you budget yourself.

My pregnancy went really well. I really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that I had MAJOR heartburn. I kept tums everywhere.

On November 21, my fiance, his mother and myself went to the mall to go Christmas shoping. Our local mall is a mile long and we walked the whole mall! When we were leaving I stepped off of a curb and wrenched a muscle in my hip. It hurt!!! Later that night I was at a friends house and started having back pains. My girlfriend starting joking that I was probably in labor. At 9:00 that night, I realized that the back pains were coming and going alot so I started timing them. I didn't tell Phil (my fiance) because I didn't want to sound like a big baby. Finally after an hour of timing them I told him that I was having contractions. I'm not sure if he believed me or not! I called the dr. and told her that they were about 4 minutes apart. She told me to take a shower and try to sleep. My biggest advice to anyone is to try and take a shower before you go to the hospital! It gives you time to relax and remember any last minute details!

I went to bed at 11 and woke up at 12 with some harder contractions. They were all in my back and very uncomfortable so I called the dr. and she told me to come in.

Phil and I got there at 1 a.m. and the nurse checked me. I was at 4 cm. They put me in a room and told me to walk to help "bring the baby down" I walked for an hour and told them it was time for my epidural! (I'm a big baby!) The epidural was great...at first but after a couple of minutes, my whole body started to itch really bad. So bad that I was near tears!!! The nurse decided to give me Nubain to help and it did for a little while. Then my dr. came and said she wanted to break my water to get things going. When that didn't do much they gave me pitocin. I was nervouse because I heard that was awful. To be honest I don't remember anything after that. I was so tired. At 10:00 a.m. they checked me and told me I was at 10 cm. My nurse saw that I was having a contraction and ripped my blanket off and yelled "PUSH"! I got mad because my dad and Phil's mom and my step father were all still in the room and there are only so many people that need to see you butt naked! So I pulled my blanket back up and told everyone to get out!!! I pushed for a 1/2 hour and felt like I was doing nothing!!! Then my dr. decide to give me a break because I was still upset at my nurse for being so inconciderate! They also took my button for the epidural. I think that was their nice way of saying that I wasn't pushing good enough. After a 1/2 hour I started pushing again and it hurt so bad. I thought I was going to split in half. Finally the dr. used the suction cup thing to try and help get him out. That was the worst pain I ever felt in my life because it felt like they were pushing him back in! The suction kept sliding off of his head to so they had to keep putting it back on. Finally at 12:46 (after more than 12 hours of labor and a major episiotomy) my son Noah was born. He was 7.6 pounds, 20 inches and beautiful. My first reaction was "oh my gosh I have to take him home with me and take care of him!!!!)

He is 7 weeks old now and we are getting into a routine but I have to go back to work in a week. I am not very happy about it but what can you do?
