I woke up at 8 am and went to the bathroom and discovered that I was bleeding, I told my husband and we made a call to my dr and went to the hospital immediately. The dr said I was fine and to go home and rest, that it wasn't quite my due date. (I had 9 days to go) , thinking back on it now he didn't want to alarm me that I was in my first stage of labor.I went back home that day and did my usual work around the house along with the errands I had to do.
I went to bed at 11:00 that night, I would wake up with these menstral like cramps that I'd have to go soak in the bath tub for 10-15 minutes to relieve the pain. ( I didn't think I was in labor ) I would sleep a few hours and then have to get in a tub of hot water) then by 5:30 am I was in a little more pain and called my dr for medication he said he'd order it.
I went back to bed and slept some more. (the dr still didn't say that I was in labor so I wouldn't panic) I had had all these different pains throughout my pregnancy this was just another discomfort to me.) I got up at 8:30 and said I couldn't take the constant mild pain (that again were like menstrual cramps but they lasted for hours) not hard labor or back labor, just a constant pain.
My husband took his son and went out to eat and pick up my medicine they arrived back about 8:50 and by then I was sweating and miserable and told him he'd better get me to the hospital and soon. My water had broke when I sneezed and out popped her head and then I couldn't stop the pushing sensation I felt I must do.
On the way to the hospital I was sitting on my knees, her head was out of me and if I'd sat down I'd have broken the baby's neck.
I was beating on my husbands hand with my fist I felt like he was taking his time. He thought I was over reacting because this was my first. I got to the hospital and couldn't walk right (since the baby's head was out of my body and trying to walk dignified was impossible. I was then taken in to the emergency room where my husband was told to go sign me in well he did sign me in but the time it took to get those papers signed I'd already had given birth.
I was scared and asked the dr for some pain medication, the dr said it would just delay the birth so I went ahead and pushed once and out she came. My husband walked back into the room and he saw out new baby girl.
He missed the birth but at least he'll take me serious when I tell him to hurry on the way to the hospital next time! I didn't have any pain medication before or after delivery, no episitomy nothing. My regular dr didn't get to deliver my child, it was an emergency room dr, and the nurse told me next time to camp out on the hospital step next time I was close to my due date.
