My sister Christine (2 years younger than me)found out she was pregnant in July of 1999. when she was 3 months along,Chris decided that she she wanted a home birth and wanted us to be there for it. My brother (Older),and Me agreed. I lived only 4 blocks form Christine and visited her about twice a week. From what I saw she had a pretty uneventful pregnancy ( unlike me, who had constent morning sickness and could barly move.) Fast forwarding to 1 day before labor and Delivery...

The Day The baby was born my brother Sean flew out of the country an a business trip. We knew he wasn't going to be back in time so he promised he would make it up to Christine. Our Mother made Chris and her husband go on a long walk because for some reason she believed that heat ( it was 70 degrees out that day) increased labor. Well, she was right. Heat or the walk caused them to come back an hour later with Christine saying she was having contractions.

My mother called the Midwife that was going to be helping and than left telling us to call if we needed any thing. the midwife came over and checked Chris and said she was 3cm. After 8 hours she checked her again and told her she was 10cm. and ready to push. After 20 min. of pushing a little girl came into the world. Ericka Jade weighing 6lbs. 8oz. and 20 inches long. She is now a healthy 2 year old.
