It woke up early, at about 6 am, on Aug 10, 1998. Just two days before I was do to be induced with slight little pains. I didn't think much of them at first and just shifted postitons.

After a while I noticed they were coming every 15 minutes!! I figured they must be contractions, but I wasn't hurting so I wasn't sure.

I went and laid on the couch and about 2 hours later they were 10 minutes apart. and soon after that they moved to 5 mintues apart so I called my mother and told her I though we needed to head to the hospital, which was 45 minutes away. I called Brian (my hubby who was 5 hours away working) and he started on his way as we headed to the hospital.

I had dialted to a 3 and they monitored me for about 4 hours and because I wasn't feeling much pain they sent me home, without even having a dr see me!!!! They told me to go eat and get some sleep and they would induce me in the mroning at 6 am since I wouldn't have my baby for another day or so. Well I tried to eat and it didn't stay down. We got home and I had about 6 really hard painful comtractions, but then they stopped so I went to sleep.

At about 10:30, I woke up and went into the bathroom and my water broke. I felt this pressure down there and reached down to see what was going on and I felt my baby's head and hair!!!

I hobbled to the couch and Brian called my mom and by the time she got there we realized I wouldn't make it to the hospital.

I remember the EMTs and Police offciers getting there and telling me to push. At 11:06 pm, Noah Riley was born weighting 7 pounds and 18 3/4 inches long!! He had his Daddy, both his grandmas, 3 emts, 2 police officer, his grandpa and uncle (who stayed in the hall during this time) all there to welcome him into the world.

I will never forget holding him the whole way to the hospital! It was the amazing!!!
