My husband John and I had been married two years when I learned I was pregnant. Of course both families and friends were delighted. 9 months seemed to fly by and before I knew it I was approaching my due date. I had a fairly easy pregnancy, so therefore I assumed my labor would be just as easy.

On August 18 we decided we drive an hour to visit one of John's close friends Mike and his wife Shelly. Shelly was in the middle of her 8th month. We arrived at Mike's around 2:00 pm. We sat around and ate and played cards and watched old movies that Mike and John made when they were younger. At 9:30 we made the decision to just spend the night. Besides Mike's brother Scott was coming the next day and I hadn't seen him in awhile.

Well the next morning came, and when I was showering I felt a strengthening in my belly, and a moment later I passed some gas. Later I realized my water had broken. Well at 12:30 Scott showed up and the guys decided they wanted do some fishing. Shelly and I figured that the waters were calm enough and as long as we weren't speeding that it was safe for us to go out. Well we were wrong. We got to the fishing spot around 4:30. At 4:45 I stood up to go grab a juice box and I felt another really tense strengthening. AHHHHHH I began to lie down when I was hit again with another strengthening. AHHHHHHHHH I told John I was having contractions. Scott began to prepare to leave and I told him not to move the boat. He argued but I made it quite clear not to move the boat, I was very vocal. Well At 5:00 I could feel the baby decending in the birth canal. I told John I was pushing and he and Shelly helped prepare me. The pain I felt was incredible. The burning pressure was unbearable and I was screaming and moaning the whole time. At 5:10 my baby was born into her father's hands. Kyle was healthy and is now a busy little baby trying to get into tons of trouble.
