We found out we were pregnant on September 14th, 1998, on our 7 month wedding anniversary. The pregnancy was very uneventful. The normal "all day" morning sickness. I lost 10 pounds the first trimester. But made up for it by gaining a total of 60 lbs.

We went to the doctors office for our usual appt for our 37th week and decided to induce on Friday April 30th, 1999. The doctor didn't see that there would be a problem since the baby was going to be big enough. (my belly measured 45cm at 37 weeks pregnant) We were hooked up to pitocin at 8:00am that morning. At 11:00am, I had my first contraction and it lasted 2 minutes. It brought be into tears. I asked for an epidural at that point. After the epidural, everything was fine! At 5:35pm, the doctor came in to announce that the baby was stuck and that there was no way I could have in vaginally. (but if I wanted, I could keep trying:-) ) We decided to go ahead with the c-section at this point. Our beautiful baby boy was born at 6:03pm on April the 30th, 1999. He was 8 and a half pounds and 21 inches long. His umbilical cord was tied in a knot. The pediatrician was there and said he could have been in some kind of danger had we not induced when we did. (We were real thankful we did induce at this point) The doctor said had we went to our due date he would have been close to 11 pounds. His growth rate was real high. I had a reaction to the epidural and had, what they thought at first, was seizures, but weren't...thank God! After an hour of that and 3 shots of meds to counter act the epidural, I got to go to my room and 3 hours after that, see my baby boy, Travis Lee! He spent his first week of life in a phototherapy suitcase for his jaundice. But atleast he was home with us!

He is now 15 months old and still a big boy. He is weighing in at 29 pounds and 34 inches tall. He is off the charts at the pediatricians office. I am sure he will be one tall boy when he is fully grown. We are now trying for our second baby. This time, we aren't going to induce, we are going to go as long as we can, no matter how big the baby will be.
