Birth Stories - C-Section Birth Stories

We are so blessed with our 4 children. All of my pregnacies were healthy and free of major complications. My first child came when I was 17 and clueless. I was eating dinner with my family when I thought I peed my pants. Off to the bathroom I went and returned to the table only to discover I peed again. I repeated this senario several times until I realized that Hey this is the water- breaking thing!

That was 9:30 p.m.,and after two hours of "failure to progress", I was given a c-section at 12:30p.m. MacKenzie was 8lbs 10 1/2 oz. Turns out to be a blessing in disguse as I had a cyst on my ovary. Doctor removed that and I went home 2 days later.

My second pregnacy was a breeze also that is until delivery. New doctor made me have a vbac. I thought my guts were going to spill out. Every one bet me Maddy was a boy. Needless to say, I won $50. After being in early labor for a week, I was induced at 4:30p.m. Not pleasant. She was born at 1:38 a.m. after 3 hours of pushing. 9lbs and 3oz with a 16inch head came out of my body. I thought I was going to rip apart, which I did (not pleasant either).

Third baby sat on my sciatic nerve the last week of pregnacy, I had to literally crawl everywhere. This time I scheduled a c- section for 12:30p.m. You're not allowed to eat after midnight the night before, so being used to the pregnant-eating-for-two mealtimes, I was throwing up I was so hungry. I wanted a boy so bad, I convinced myself it had to be, but wasn't sure. So when doctor said it's a girl, we both said "WHAT!!!" Meagan was my smallest at 7lbs 5oz.

Our last baby was unplanned. Right away even before my period was missed, I knew I was PG. I had to go to the doctor twice trying to get them to tell me I was. I knew this was a boy no chance it wasn't. I had a taste in my mouth that is best described as metallic- everything with sugar in it tasted like the most awful thing. So I didn't gain much weight- no goodies!! We found out on my birthday that he was indeed a boy (good thing cause I only had a boy's name picked out). I can only desciribe our feeling as euphoric, our family was complete in all senses. Scheduled another c-section for 8:30. Andrew was born at 8lbs 10 oz. He was Jaundiced so had a lamp in my room for a day or so I'm told. I was so drugged that day, I was asking everyone if they brought their tights. We both took him to get his circumsicion.

Bad move, we cried harder than he did. His poor little penis bled for 3 hours. I still have guilt. Anyway, all said and done, we are so blessed with four healthy, happy children and we wish everyone the best with their families.
