My first child, a daughter, is ten years old. Her birth was so bad and traumatic it took me 10 years to gather enough courage to do it again. When we finally decided to try to conceive it took six months. I had almost decided to give up seein that I had gotten pregnant with my daughter the first time I had sex. The pregnancy was fine. I had some morning sickness and a few urinary tract infections, but nothing major happened. We did find out we were having a boy. My husband was overjoyed and so was I . My daughter had wanted a sister, but adjusted well. I was two and a half weeks late with my daughter and was induced. I hoped that my son would be on time and come on his own. No such luck. At 42 weeks exactly my doctor induced. My worst fear was coming true. Needless to say I was not excited about this. Boy, was I in for a suprise. Iwas induced at 8:45 a.m. By 10 the contractions were close and hard, I asked for an epidural ( I did not have one the first time). I was very comfortable and able to visit with my family. It was great. Around 1:30 I was told I could start pushing. They turned down the epidural by half and I could feel a little pain but it was easier to know when to push. At 1:40 my babies heartrate did not recover after a contraction. They rolled me on my side and gave me oxygen. I stayed this way till 2:00 and was told all was well and I could push again. After barely an hour of pushing Cameron Parker Schriewer arrived at 3:00 p.m. weighing 10 lbs. 12oz. and 22 in. He was very angry at being evicted from his previous surroundings ,but also very tired. He fell asleep while they were cleaning him. He is now 8 weeks old and very healthy and happy.
