Austin's Birth Story
By AustandBay

When I went into labor with Austin, October 19, 1993 at 8:00 am I was soo happy I was going to finally get to meet my little boy. I woke up and started timing my contractions, but they were not coming regularly, and they didnt hurt that bad. So I basically sat around all day with my mom waiting for something to happen.

By 4pm, I was in SOO much pain and went to see my doctor. He checked me and told me it was false labor (did I mention I was due on October 18th!!) So I went back home and was in pain for hours on end. Finally at 2am, I decided it was time to go!!

We went to the hospital, I have no clue how dialated I was or anything, but I was in PAIN! Well they gave me a shot of morphine, it made me really tired and I slept in between contractions. At 10am, the epidural man finally showed up! I got my epidural at 10am and loved it! I layed there all day not feeling a thing, it was great!

Well, finally they broke my water because I guess I wasn't progressing. I started pushing at 3pm and pushed and pushed and pushed until 4:54 pm when my little boy Austin Jay was born. He was 6 pounds 8 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long! He was just beautiful! He is now 3 ½ and a great big brother to Bailee.
