I love labor and I think my friends are getting sick of hearing about mine. So I entrust my story with you all and hope you like it. My first pregnancy was easy and my delivery was all of 6 hours long and I gave birth to Tarynn at 6:03am. She was unplanned so I really wanted to plan my second to the minute. No such luck. I got pregnant after we decided to take a break. My entire pregnancy was easy and I had an average weight gain and no complications at all. I am a chicken by nature so I never thought of a home birth or anything like that, I just wanted a safe, unmedicated delivery. There was a discrepency in my dates, I thought I was 40 weeks and the doctor thought I was only 38 (and huge) So after much arguing my doctor agreed to give me an ultrasound. He still held fast on the due date but said the baby was about 9lbs 12oz!! My delivery was assisted the first time with vaccuum, so the doc was a teensy bit concerned about me delivering a baby that was a whole pound more than the first. He agreed to induce me in one weeks time, all the while assuring me the ultrasund probobly added a pound. I went in a week later for the gel, because I had already dilated to 2 cm and was 80% effaced. I began having contractions almost immediatley. They started right off the bat at 5 minutes apart. The doctor checked my cervix and after only 15 minutes I was dialated to 3 cm. He decided to break my water. Boy was I in for a surprise!! BOOM contractions every 2 minutes and within 90 minutes from recieving the gel I had the urge to push!! This baby felt like a Mack Truck driving down my pelvis. I could feel every inch. It scared the crap out of me and I started to hyperventilate. After a few contractions on oxygen The baby began to crown. I felt the most intense burning and out came the head!! People started rushing around and the doctor told me to blow through my contractions(i couldnt) It seemed the babys shoulders were alittle stuck.GREAT they released and out came my baby boy!! Here comes the surpise, the whole labor was 2 hours long from beginning to end. Andrew was all of eleven pounds!!!!Yup, unmedicated, uneventful, no epesiotomy (although I tore straight through my rectum) And he was 11 pounds!! Andrew is coming on 2 years old now and is still VERY big for his age!
