After hearing all the labor stories and thinking I was ready for all this I was very surprised when I actually went into labor. So here I was Monday February 12th 1996. My first day off of work after just having my babyshower I was not due till the 25th of February and thinking that since this was my first child she would be late. Well think again, my husband had left to work at 4:30 that morning and sure enough at 5:00 a.m. I start getting mild contractions which seemed like regular cramps to me. So I called my mom to see what I should take to make the pain go away well of course she rushed right over which by that time my contractions were stronger so when she arrived we called my husband and my mom being very nervous (first grandkid) even more than me at the time helped me get ready and off we were to the hospital when I got there of course the nurse had to check me and with no warning what so ever she went foward on doing this much to my surprise I think I jumped off the bed my mom was very upset not to mention she almost was asked to leave well after all this drama I was 3 1/2 cm dialated by this time it was about 9 a.m. labor went by smoothly and by 2:58 p.m. I was delivering my baby which went by very smoothly with the help of "the vacuum" which really helped. She was beutiful and big 8lbs 10oz. 20 inches long. Thankfully everything was good and we had our fist bundle of joy.
