Ways to Save Money on Your Cell Phone Bill

Do you cringe each time your cell phone bill arrives? If so, you are like many other people out there. For some reason cell phone plans are never enough to meet our calling and texting needs and the overages generally are outrageously expensive. Not to mention, you are probably paying for services you don’t even need or use. There are several ways to keep your cell phone while reducing your cell phone bill significantly. It may take some getting used to, but you can definitely save on your cell phone bill.

Tip #1 No Texting Plan

Do you like to text? If so you could be spending a lot of money each month for this service. Cut it out completely and save some money. Or, if you prefer to text than call then simply cut out as many phone minutes as possible and use only a text plan. Figure out what works for you and what will save the most money.

Tip #2 No Voicemail

Did you know you have to pay for your voicemail service? This is somewhat ridiculous, but you will pay several dollars a month just to have a voice mailbox. Many people don’t listen to their voicemails anyway so what’s the point? Just take the service off your plan and those who call you will either call you back to get in touch with you or when you see the missed call you can call them. It really is pretty easy and you don’t need to pay for voicemail or else spend time listening to voicemails!

Tip #3 Low Minutes

Another thing you can do is reduce your service plan as much as possible. Most plans offer nights and weekends free so you get the lowest peak time minute plan possible and save your phone calls for the nights and weekends. You save money and still have your cell phone. It’s the perfect combination!

Tip #4 Compare Plans

Another option is to compare plans. Your carrier might not have the best rate and you should compare plans to find the best and most affordable plan for you. You may also consider using prepaid cell phone services because this will allow you to have service based on what you are willing to pay up front.
