Treating Fertility without Medication

If you have been trying to get pregnant for awhile without success you may need to treat your fertility issues. Your doctor will probably want to start treating you with medications but you may not want to go this route. It is perfectly acceptable to try to treat your fertility issues or what may be perceived as fertility issues naturally or without medication first. A lot of people have success with this approach so it is worth a try if you have the patience left to wait on medications.

One of the most important things that you can do is ensure that you are in good health. Women that are trying to get pregnant should be in all around good health including body weight. Many women that are not of ideal weight have a difficult time getting pregnant for one reason or another. If you are over weight begin losing a bit of weight and see if your luck doesnt change.

No matter what your weight may be you should definitely start tracking your fertility. You can do this by checking your cervical mucus and looking for changes. When you have thin, watery egg white like cervical discharge you should assume that you are ovulating as this is typical in most women. You can confirm whether or not you are in fact ovulating by checking your basal temperature every day for several months. Over time you will see a spike when you ovulate and if you have unprotected sex around this time you increase your chances of becoming pregnant because the egg will be viable at this stage.

There are some herbs that you can take to help with fertility if you do not want to try traditional medications. One such herb is evening primrose oil and it is known to help with cervical mucus and fertility issues. Many women find that it is very helpful in conceiving even when they have been having trouble. Other women find that estrogen creams really help their fertility issues.

Acupuncture has also been said to help women that are having a hard time becoming pregnant. Many times women are too stress or have other health issues that can be helped by acupuncture. This alternative treatment is definitely worth a try as many women have reported having immediate success getting pregnant after regular acupuncture treatments.

As you can see there are many treatments that you can explore if you do not want to take medications. While all of these treatments have helped some women it is important to remember that they do not work for everyone. Sometimes, depending on what the fertility challenge is, you may need the help of a doctor and their traditional medications. When you have exhausted all of the natural possibilities you may want to talk to your doctor about his or her least invasive treatments.
