Reasons to Use a Programmable Thermostat

You have probably seen signs and billboards, even commercials, advertising programmable thermostats. They are a wonderful way to keep your home a specific temperature based on the time of day. For example, you can program the temperature to be a certain degree when you arrive home from work and a different temperature throughout the day when nobody is home. However, for the weekends you may prefer a different setting and can do this, too. It’s a great way to keep your home just like you want it to be without having to waste energy or spend a lot of money on power bills. Luckily, programmable thermostats are affordable and are long lasting.

Lower Power Bills

You will lower your power bill with a programmable thermostat. The reason why is you can program the thermostat to lower the temperature when you leave during the winter so it’s not heating a house when nobody is home. Similarly, you can have the thermostat raise the temperature during the summer when nobody is home. Program the thermostat to change the temperature to your liking for the hours you are home. You can even have the thermostat change the temperature late at night when everyone is asleep and less likely to notice! You will notice a change in your power bill the first month and since the thermostat does all the work you don’t have anything to worry about!

Perfect Temperature

With a programmable thermostat you can always have your home the perfect temperature when you arrive or wake up and don’t have to worry about the home being heated or cooled when nobody is around. That is truly a wonderful invention!

Easy to Use

Programmable thermostats are really easy to use. They generally have weekday settings and weekend settings where you can pre-set temperatures for various times of the day. Usually they are programmable in six hour increments, but different thermostats have different settings. It’s easy to set the thermostat to the temperature you choose in the morning, afternoon, and evening so you are always comfortable but never wasting energy or money.
