Herbs That Boost Fertility in Both Women and Men

Fertility issues are ones which plague a number of individuals. Although women are the ones who carry the children throughout the pregnancy, men also need to be concerned with fertility issues as well since it takes two individuals to conceive. For those concerned with fertility issues, various herbs will be highlighted which help to boost fertility in men and women. Some herbs will boost fertility in only men or only women while others work for both sexes.

Fertility Boosters for Men

There are quite a few different herbs that men can take to increase their fertility. One such herb which plays a role in promoting male fertility is flaxseed oil. The ingredients within flaxseed oil help to keep the sperm healthy and may also help with regard to male impotence. Flaxseed oil is a wonderful herbal supplement to consider taking when trying to promote fertility and achieve conception.

Another known fertility booster for men is zinc picolinate. Zinc is an essential herbal supplement for those men looking to increase their fertility. If you are a man and have a lack of zinc in the body, you may experience symptoms such as lower testosterone, shrinking of the testicles and/or less healthy sperm than your adequate zinc intake counterparts. Taking zinc will help to boost your fertility and make conceiving a child much more likely.

Fertility Boosters for Women

There are many fertility boosters for women as well when it comes to herbal supplements. One herb which has been linked with fertility is Evening Primrose Oil, or EPO. EPO is an important herb to take as it helps to promote favorable cervical mucus. The cervical mucus is an important factor as it aids the sperm in its travels to fertilize the egg. If you are a woman who wants to make conception that much more likely, taking EPO may be a very beneficial thing to do.

Another popular herb that women take to boost fertility is Vitex. Also known as Chasteberry, this herb is one which helps promote fertility by stabilizing the menstrual cycle and bringing on the ovulation cycle for women who have been on the birth control pill and have since ceased using such contraception. Vitex is one herb you may wish to look into further if facing conception difficulties.

Fertility Boosters for Men and Women

You will also find that certain herbal supplements work fertility wonders for both men and women. One such herb which may do the trick for both sexes is Saw Palmetto. Saw Palmetto promotes fertility by boosting the male sex hormones and nourishing the male reproductive system. If you are a female and wish to use Saw Palmetto, you may find that the herb boosts fertility in women by stabilizing the functions of the reproductive organs and sex glands.

Summary

There are many herbal supplements which you can choose from to boost fertility whether you are a man or a woman. As both sexes are important participants in the conception phase, it is important that both the man and woman do as much as they can to ensure fertility.
