Getting Fast Pregnancy Results

If you have decided to take a pregnancy test to determine if you are pregnant or not, you may also want to know how long it will take before you know. Determining how long you will be waiting for the answer is sometimes important in determining which pregnancy test to take as well as what to expect after you have taken it.

Before taking a pregnancy test you will need to wait for the time when your next menstrual period should start. Even if you think you may be pregnant, you will have to wait for the day of your menstrual cycle. It is said that it will take about two weeks for the hormone level that is part of pregnancy to be part of your system. Some pregnancy tests state that you can take the test up to four days before your period, however this often times gives negative results when you may be pregnant. If your period is late, then this will be the best time to take the pregnancy test whether it is from a doctor or a home test. The longer you wait, the more likely you will be able to get the best results which can indicate if you are pregnant or not.

From this point, a pregnancy test will be a fairly quick procedure. After you have dropped your urine onto a chemical strip, you should only have to wait for one to two minutes before you get the results. If it is earlier on, it is recommended that you wait for up to five minutes to see what the results are. This, however, will depend on the sensitivity of the test that you are taking as well as how much hormone is in your system. Some tests will give you results in thirty seconds.

If you have taken a home pregnancy test and the results were positive then you will want to go to a health care provider. This will be to double check and make sure that the test is accurate. Getting a pregnancy test from a health provider will be fast and easy. They will be able to determine how long you have been pregnant as well. From here, you will be able to get the proper tests to make sure that everything is healthy and will also want to find the right resources for prenatal care.

Home pregnancy tests are a quick and easy way to find out you are pregnant as long as you know when to take the test and are certain that it is time. If you are late and think you might be pregnant then this is a great time to take a home pregnancy test, if not consider waiting a few days to see what happens.
