Donating Money Can Help you Save

Do you feel strapped for cash? If so, you might want to consider donating money to charitable organizations or tithing to your church. You might think this sounds crazy considering you are on a tight budget, but it’s actually not. Despite being on a tight budget you probably still have some squeeze room and there are plenty of needs out there that are bigger than yours. Believe it or not, but it is financially healthy to give to those less fortunate or to your church. By giving you will feel like you are helping others than yourself and also get a good feeling about doing so. You will learn what you are willing to sacrifice to help others less fortunate and by evaluating your budget for places to save to have money to give you will likely find other places in your budget where you can cut back. As a result, not only will you give to those who are less fortunate but you will also be better able to save money for a rainy day.

Some people believe in good karma, in God, and the universe rewarding those who put good into the world. If you believe in this then by donating money to others you are literally putting good into the world and it will come back to you tenfold. Certainly, that’s not why you should give. You should give because you feel in your heart that it is the right thing to do. But, by doing so, you will more than likely be compensated in the future in some way.

If you are interested in donating money the first thing you should do is come up with a nonprofit organization or charity that you care deeply about. This could be a hospital, a program to adopt a child, or simply to your church every Sunday. It’s up to you where you donate your money, but when you do you will quickly see the value of money more than in any other way. When you give away your hard earned money you are able to evaluate your financial situation in a better light and work on becoming more financially healthy.
