In some instances, women with PCOS who experience anxiety may be proscribed anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medications. In some cases, women who are given the birth control pill to control the other symptoms of PCOS may find that the pill helps to restore a hormonal balance which in turn reduces anxiety. In addition, many women with PCOS have experienced a great deal of success with stress management and anxiety reduction techniques.
