Aches And Pains During The Second Trimester
As you are in your second trimester you will more than likely feel pretty good. Most women due and it is often referred to as the honeymoon phase of pregnancy because it is so good. However, some women do have aches and pains during the second trimester. There are all kinds of reasons for these aches and pains and some of them will be discussed below.
Lower Back Pain
Lower back pain is common during pregnancy. The best way to deal with it, however, is to do exercises to help strengthen the back, maintain good posture, and try not to gain too much weight. As your girth increases you may notice increased back pain so staying within the guidelines for weight gain is important.
Swollen Ankles
Although the second trimester is a breeze for most pregnant women many expectant moms experience swollen ankles. This is completely normal during the second trimester and is ok so dont get too worried. It does make wearing shoes difficult and even getting comfortable hard. Walking long distances may not be so easy either. The best way to deal with swollen ankles is to keep your feet elevated above your heart level as much as possible.
Heartburn and Indigestion
As the uterus places more pressure on the stomach you may notice an increase in heartburn and indigestion. Try to treat these on your own by changing your eating habits. Eating less fried foods, eating earlier in the day, and avoiding getting too full should help you with heartburn and indigestion.
Headaches
Headaches are another common ache of pregnancy. The ever changing hormones frequently give women headaches. Tylenol can offer some relief as well as a good nights sleep or a massage.
As you can see there are all kinds of aches and pains that might occur during the second trimester of pregnancy. All you can do is focus on getting enough rest, eating right, and not overexerting yourself to try and avoid some of these symptoms or reduce their severity.
